Don has over 40 years of continuous service in the Active Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard.  He has over 10,000 military & civilian flight hours with 650 combat hours in a C-23 Sherpa.  He is a longtime resident of Tallahassee, and a retired EMS Helicopter pilot.

Day Trip to Apalachicola 

     Due to lack of participation, the chartered bus transportation will no longer be offered so no fees up front, it is all on your own.  However we still have a group planning on going to Apalachicola for the day.  So we will still get together for dinner at 5:30 at the Hole in The Wall Restaurant as well.  We need RSVPs of who is going so we can have a head count for the restaurant.  Also we plan to publish the list so everyone knows who is going if any so if anyone would like to car pool or caravan to Apalachicola you can make arrangements.  

     Dinner will be at 5:30 PM at the Hole In the Wall Raw Bar And Seafood, 23 Avenue D, Apalachicola, FL 32320-1801.  Each person will cover their own meal.  This is sure to be a fun and memorable trip so please sign up soon.  

      This is also the same day as the Aplachicola Classic Boat & Car Show.

Annual Banquet

     Our annual installation banquet is Saturday 01/20/2024 at the Southwood Golf Club, 3750 Grove Park Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32311 Phone: 850.942.4653.  This event is for you and your significant other as we celebrate our club and our new leadership for 2024, so let's dress up and enjoy the evening!  We will begin at 5:00 PM with cocktails and dinner will be served at 6PM.  You will have a choice of a house salad or a caesar salad, there will be a carving station with Roasted Pork Loin, Chicken Marsala, Potatoes Au Gratin, Green Beans and for dessert there will be Red Velvet and Chocolate Chip cookies.  

     For those that would like to participate in the door prize drawing at the end of the evening, please bring a gift (Approximate value $50.00) if just you bring one if you and your significant other then bring two.  We will do our usual hunt at the end to find the gift with your ticket that you draw. 

     Please RSVP by Tuesday 01/16/2024.  

     Please come even if you do not RSVP, as everyone's plans change, we just need an approximate headcount for the club to make sure there is plenty of food.

Day Trip to St. Augustine

 Saturday December 9th, 9 AM departure (That means be there ready to go by 8:30 Am), Wal-Mart parking Lot, Mahan Drive is our meeting location for ample parking out by service road, where the Astro Travel Bus will meet us.  We will have some refreshments on the bus, you are welcome to bring your own snacks as well.  We should be in St Augustine around noon, and will have the Hop on Hop off tour available for all.  You can tour all of the locations on that tour (Entry fees on your own) then we will meet back at 5PM for dinner (Location to be determined).  Dinner is included, libations are on your own,  Our bus driver will take us on a Christmas light tour around St Augustine on our way home and should be back to the Wal-Mart parking lot around 9pm.  If you want to join us, we need you to sign up asap, with a check for $150 per person attending.  This is not limited to club members, but it is adults 21 and over only.  We need a check made out to Tallahassee 100 Club, either turned in to Doug Gove or Matt Miley or mailed to the address below to reserve your place on the bus.

J. Doug Smith, a seventh-generation Tallahassee native whose ancestors first came to Spanish East Florida in 1799 and to Leon County in 1828, is a 1971 graduate of Leon High School whose interest in his hometown history began in earnest in 2013.
After working for over 35 years in manufacturing firms in software implementation and as a business systems analyst, Smith, after spending sixteen years living in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, working in the aerospace industry, retired in 2015 and returned to Tallahassee.
Smith became interested in Tallahassee’s History and is working on his forthcoming book “For The Public Good: The Extraordinary Life and History of Tallahassee’s George Washington Saxon (1848–1935),” his 2nd great-granduncle and the founder of Capital City Bank.
   Over the last eight years, Smith has traveled throughout the southeast researching George W. Saxon and Tallahassee’s history, and during that time, served for six years on the board of directors of the Tallahassee Historical Society, serving one year as its president and treasurer and continues serving as an advisor to the historical society’s 2024 bicentennial committee, and is currently serving on Visit Tallahassee's Bicentennial History Committee. In addition, he has aided in the research of three other books about Tallahassee’s history and continues his interest in uncovering and writing about Tallahassee’s rich and varied past.

Prior to working at JMI, she owned her own business in the Tallahassee area for 15 years and worked in positions where she planned events and administered programs and outreach for the State of Florida. Lickson also is a graduate of JMI’s Tallahassee SBEP Program.

Gregg Patterson has over 40 years’ experience serving as CFO, COO and CEO in multiple industries. His current company provides advisory services to over 60 business entities which vary in size from start-ups to existing companies with revenues of over $200M.  He is a serial entrepreneur and has participated in startup retail, insurance, financial and professional services organizations.

 

He is currently the founder and CEO of IMS Business, LC a growing professional services firm. His company provides accounting, advisory and back-office services including staffing and operations management to organizations with a local, regional, and international presence. 

Gregg is also the Executive Director of Choose Tallahassee. Choose Tallahassee is a 501c3 Economic Development organization whose mission is to encourage people to relocate to Tallahassee.

 

In addition, Gregg served as the Vice Chair of the Canopy Community Development District which manages the financing and implementation of common area infrastructure and utilities for a 500-acre development in NE Tallahassee.  Canopy CDD has successfully issued four series of CDD bonds totaling $11M.
