Guidelines For Membership

Guidelines for Membership PURPOSE It is the purpose of the Tallahassee 100 Club to form an association of persons engaged in business and professions in the Tallahassee and Leon County area, who will aid and counsel one another with business and professional problems; create and encourage business: and promote and further the mutual interest and welfare of its members as follows: (a) Provide a means of disseminating business information of value to its members. (b) To be a strictly non-political organization, and to promote and foster the spirit of fellowship amongst its members and a better understanding of the services the members can and do render. (c) To aid and assist individually and as a group in solving and discussing business problems and other needs. (d) To foster camaraderie, trust and knowledge amongst members through regular face to face association at business and social gatherings. MEMBERSHIP Members shall represent a trade, business, occupation or profession and be classified according to their main activity or profession. No member may be in competition with the main activity or profession of another member. APPLICATIONS Any member may invite a guest (prospective member) to not more than one regular meeting in any two-month period. Any member in good standing may submit an Application for Membership to the Membership Committee with information regarding the person, his/her Business Category for recommendation to the Board of Directors. The membership Committee shall consider: (a) Whether the applicant will participate in the goals of the Tallahassee 100 Club. (b) Whether the applicant is an owner, or executive officer of the business he/she represents. (c) Whether the applicant's business or professional category is open for membership. d) The applicant's standing in the community. (e) The applicant's reputation in the community. (f) The sponsor's personal knowledge of the applicant's ethical conduct and business principles. (g) The applicant's willingness to give in proportion to benefits received with fellow members. (h) The applicant's willingness to give trade talks on their business when called upon. An applicant, having been approved by the Board of Directors, shall be submitted to the members in written notice. If no objections are filed, the individual shall be considered admitted after receipt of an invitation by the Secretary, and payment of $60.00 Initiation fee and appropriate annual dues.
